“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer
We woke up to choppy waves, freezing winds, and a bleak sky threatening rain. Dressed for adventure, we took one look outside and made a decision: today, we stay in. No zodiacs. No hiking in extreme weather. Just a different kind of experience.
Gratitude. Reflection. Presence.
From the comfort of our balcony, we took in the raw, untouched beauty of Antarctica – no filter needed, no rush required.
Over a slow, indulgent breakfast, I found myself in absolute awe. This journey has exceeded my wildest expectations, revealing the splendour of creation in ways I never imagined. A real-life, 4D masterpiece.
Once again, I held up the flags of Nigeria and Jamaica – symbols of my heritage and my propellers on this quest to see the world. A reminder of where I come from, and how far I’m willing to go. Life really has no limits except for the limits you place on it.
By mid-morning, we attended a fascinating session on “How to Get to the South Pole,” a deep dive into the courage, resilience, and sheer determination it took to conquer this super challenging frontier.
That’s the beauty of this expedition – It has been a perfect blend of adventure, education, luxury and community.
The Future Can Wait.
Ahead, on our return journey, lies the Drake Passage — unpredictable, relentless, legendary.
But why worry about tomorrow when today is this spectacular?
Instead, we savoured the moment – another unforgettable dinner, whale watching, and shared stories with fellow explorers.
Back in our cabin, lessons from the past guided my actions and I packed up our major luggage ahead, knowing that preparation is key when facing the unknown.
Because that’s life, isn’t it? Savouring the now, while staying ready for whatever comes next.
