The day finally arrived!
With excitement in the air, our group gathered in the morning at the hotel for breakfast.
This wasn’t just another journey. it was the start of an unforgettable adventure.
After breakfast, we made our way to the airport, where check-in had already been seamlessly handled for us.
Our destination? Ushuaia—the gateway to Antarctica!
Nestled along the breathtaking Beagle Channel, Ushuaia is referred to as the southernmost city in the world, and is fondly called ‘the end of the world’, a place where explorers set sail toward the vast, untamed beauty of the Antarctic.
This was to be our launch point – the threshold between the familiar and the unknown.
Our flight was smooth.
Upon landing, we headed straight to the ship.
The moment we stepped on board, we were greeted by an excited crew (photos will be available in the comments shortly) and later ushered to our awesome cabin. (Check out the video!)
Little did we know that after our safety briefing that evening, we were going to attend a welcome cocktail at which we were to receive some major news that would ‘rock our boat!!!’ (pun intended!)
This reminds me so much of life itself. We live in the moment and never truly know what tomorrow or even the next hour holds – the shocks, the pleasant surprises, the challenges, the victories and the in-betweens!
So as you journey through life, remember to:
⛴️ Define your vision clearly and keep it at your core!
⛴️ Cherish the present, it could end up being one of your most favourite memories
⛴️ Press forward with preparedness, adaptability and hope and keep your hope alive!
⛴️ Stay ready to overcome challenges -they will come and they must not break you or cause you to drift!
⛴️ Be resilient – life is one marathon journey, never a sprint!
⛴️ Embrace the unknown – often times, it leads to the most extraordinary experiences and the most spectacular destinations.
⛴️ Surround yourself with fellow explorers with same or greater zeal as you – your shared experiences can provide support and inspiration for each other (For one explorer we met, this was his 6th visit to Antarctica – he was a huge inspiration to me!)
