When we hear the phrase ‘an early check up’, we often think of health related check ups especially as we are (thankfully) becoming increasingly aware of the fact that early detection (of diseases) can save lives.
May I invite you to apply this same logic to do an early leadership check up? Afterall we are already past the half way mark in January and gaps if not identified and addressed, may adversely impact your outcome for 2025.
Do you know what your gaps are for your current environment and how to address them?
Try these tips below as part of an early leadership check up:
📌 Review your last performance assessment (if still applicable for your role / environment)
📌 Reflect on 3 incidences in the last one year that did not go as well as you would have wanted them to.
📌 Ask the stakeholders involved in those incidences for their thoughts on what you could have done differently, for a more effective outcome.
📌 Reflect on this and see how you would like to incorporate their feedback going forward.
📌 Engage a coach if you feel stuck, or willing but unable to work on your gaps effectively.
All the best for the year ahead.
